About Us

Bringing glory to God through making disciples, equipping them for ministry and service to others, building up the body, and sharing life together as one family in God.

Welcome Pastor Michael and Joanna Middleton!

Pastor Michael Middleton joined us as Senior Pastor on January 1st, 2024. From Alliance, Ohio, Pastor Michael and his wife Joanna are excited to begin their new ministry, and Faith Community Church is excited to have them!

Our Vision

In the corporate world, a company’s mission is what they do best or seek to do best every day. Their vision is of what the future will look like, because they do or seek to do that mission so exceedingly well. Unlike the corporate world, what the future looks like for Christians has already been described in the New Testament. Although some denominations may disagree on specific details of that vision, all Christ-centered churches believe that:

  • Good will triumph over evil (God will defeat the evil one).
  • Those that have given control of their lives to Jesus will live with God forever in that victory.
  • People who have committed their life to Jesus Christ will continually strive to be more and more like Him in action and character.
  • Believers in Jesus Christ will openly display the love of Christ to others so that they, too, may seek to find that same victory and hope.

Our Mission

In a similar fashion, the mission of the church has been established in scriptures. The Bible teaches us to:

  • Bring glory to God through the making of disciples (followers of Christ).
  • Equip the saints (disciples) for ministry and service to others.
  • Build up the body (all believers) to knowledge and maturity in Jesus Christ.
  • Share our lives together as part of the family of God.

Although this is a blueprint for a local church, the mission is much larger than one local group of believers. It is a mission that applies to the entire body of Christ, all individuals who have given control of their life to Jesus. God has called us to fulfill His mission. As a congregation of believers, Faith Community Church actively strives to fulfill this mission in the Canton area. Faith Community Church also actively strives to fulfill this mission in our region, state, nation and world, through prayer and a commitment to missions, a sharing of our resources with other believers throughout the world.

Our Core Beliefs (Statements of Faith)

Get to know more about what defines us.

  • We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
  • We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.
  • We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
  • We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, but by man's own choice fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
  • We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. Only those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God by His grace.
  • We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper (communion) are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age.  They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
  • We believe that the true Church is composed of all who have been regenerated by the gracious work of the Holy Spirit and are thus united in the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head.
  • We believe that only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right, in submission to Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of every Christian home; as such, Christian marriage is to be between one man and one woman, only.
  • We believe in the personal, premillennial, and certain coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment, separated from the Lord.
